About the Role
Marafi Marine Contracting is seeking an experienced Tender Manager – Marine Works to lead the preparation, coordination and submission of technical and commercial tenders for marine construction projects.
The role will oversee the full tendering process, including bid strategy, pricing, risk assessment, proposal coordination and client engagement, while working closely with estimators, planners, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and JV partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, coordination and submission of technical and commercial tenders.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract conditions.
- Manage estimators, planners, engineers and proposal teams during bid preparation.
- Develop bid strategies, pricing approaches and project execution methodologies.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and JV partners to obtain competitive quotations.
- Identify commercial, contractual and technical risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Participate in tender clarifications, negotiations and client presentations.
- Maintain tender schedules and ensure timely submission of complete and high-quality bids.
- Support commercial and contractual decision-making throughout the tender process.
- Ensure tender submissions align with project requirements and Marafi's commercial objectives.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction tendering.
- At least 10 years of experience in marine projects, including areas such as dredging, reclamation, breakwaters, ports, jetties, quay walls and coastal protection works.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of marine construction methods.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, tendering and commercial management.
- GCC/UAE marine contracting experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-management capability.
- Excellent commercial and contractual judgement.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
